Eliza Solowiej has been Executive Director of First Defense Legal Aid, the only 24-hour nonprofit organization providing free legal aid to people under arrest in Chicago, for over four years. She is dedicated to stopping the cradle-to-prison pipeline and replacing it with government accountability for human rights.
For 20 years, she has focused her career on youth, community and organizational leadership development. She is a Public Allies staff alumna, AmeriCorps alumna and management consultant for capacity building and social responsibility in the public and private sectors. Further, Eliza is a graduate of University of Chicago and the John Marshall Law School, holds a certificate in Nonprofit Management from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University, and has been a foster parent for teenage youth in the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
She is a Chicago Community Trust Fellow Alumna, Civic Leadership Academy Alumna, and serves on boards for Southside Together Organizing for Power, the National Lawyers Guild, the West Side Justice Center and the Chicago Community Bond Fund.
Susan Sadlowski Garza
Susan Sadlowski Garza is the first ever active Chicago Teachers Union member to be elected to City Council and the first ever woman to represent the 10th Ward in City Council. Susan’s priorities include keeping schools public, increasing wages and creating long lasting economic development in the 10th Ward.
Susan is a lifelong Chicagoan and 10th Ward resident who has dedicated her entire life to the youth and families of the 10th Ward. Starting out as a lunch lady at South Shore High School, Susan returned to college as a mother and persevered to become a Counselor at Jane Addams Elementary School, the same school her mother, herself, and her children attended. As a former Chicago Public School counselor, and former Chicago Teachers Union area Vice-President, and now 10th Ward Alderwoman, Susan will put the needs of her constituents first.
Susan has earned a Bachelor of Arts from Governors State University and holds a Master in Counseling from Concordia University. Daughter of famed Steelworker/Labor leader Edward Sadlowski, Susan was raised in a proud union home with strong values of income equality, gender equity, racial harmony, and workers and environmental rights. She is happily married to Raul Garza, a proud mother of four children and ecstatic grandmother of two.
Dr. Dorothy Anasinski
Dr. Anasinski is a Periodontist and Dental Implantologist. She completed her residency at Northwestern University and is Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago department of Postgraduate Periodontics. She is a Diplomat of the Board of Periodontology and is a Delegate to the Illinois State Dental Society. She is the Chicago Dental Society Regional Educational Program Chairperson. She also served as Past President and is currently on the board of directors of the North Suburban Branch of the Chicago Dental Society. She is the founder of The Greater Chicago Dental Academy, an organization she created to further the continuing dental education of dental professionals, and provides five seminars per year.
Her interest in Periodontics began when she became a Dental Hygienist in 1987. She attended Loyola Dental School of Dentistry and became a Dentist in 1993, and completed her two year Periodontal residency in 1995. Her background has enabled her to provide superb results through nonsurgical methods in treatment for periodontal / gum disease. She is also known by her patients for her kind and gentle manner.
She has lectured and written several articles on topics in Periodontology and Dental Implants, including effective non-surgical therapies, advanced techniques in regenerative and implant surgery, and periodontal plastic surgery. She is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, Midwest Society of Periodontists, Illinois State Society of Periodontists, American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Osseointegration, and International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Jenny Milkowski is a TV personality and on-camera traffic reporter at WFLD, Fox News 32 Chicago for the popular morning show “Good day Chicago”.
She has been the traffic reporter for several major Chicago stations including KISS FM (103.5), WLIT (93.9), WGCI, and WVAZ from 3pm-7pm Monday-Friday.
Jenny has hosted a variety of shows and reported on everything from social media and food, to lifestyle, real estate, and technology.
A first generation Polish-American born in Chicago, Polish was her first language. She graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism. Jenny also studied improv and acting at Chicago’s Second City Theater.
She was an EMMY Award-Nominated Traffic Reporter at Total Traffic Network, and an Emmy Award-Winning writer and producer.
Jenny is well-known in Chicago for her professionalism, sense of humor, wit, charming personality, and smile.
